Mensturation. A part of nature or a problem?

Menstruation. Man up and read the rest. ✌

There are few people who hear this word every day and still pretend as though they have no idea what it means because of the taboos and myths that surround menstruation. It is considered to be dirty, smelly, disgusting and even gross at times. During those three days that every girl or woman goes through her menstruation, they are almost forced to go through a period of time filled with pain, embarrassment, distress, discomfort, shame, anxiety, and even isolation.

Is this how menstruation is supposed to be treated? Gross, disgusting, impure? Menstruation is the only blood that is born without violence and yet it is the one that disgusts us the most.

When people think menstruation is impure and isolate it from bringing it into any topic of discussion. They forget one very important thing. Periods / Menstruation is the gateway for life. If women stopped getting their periods it basically means that the continuity of life on earth has officially ended. So, why do people still treat the gateway of life as something that is supposed to be shut off behind closed doors?  A new life that is a baby when born into the earth is considered to be the most beautiful thing by the same people who believe that menstruation is disgusting and ugly. What they fail to realize is that the baby wouldn't be born if it wasn't for the woman to go through menstruation every month.

I used to think that keeping women isolated for the three days when they were menstruating during the olden days was depriving them of their rights and freedom, but if you think deep into it. NO! they kept women isolated so that they don't have to do any hard work and experience more cramps during their time of the month. It was a really good thought and it was done for the welfare of women. Women nowadays think like how I used to think that its inequality, gender discrimination, and that woman are treated inferior to men. As I think about it now its kind of funny isn't it? We, women, are the reason and way through which men are born. Yet, we think they have the rights to discriminate us. Men are born because of women and I think that settles the debate of which gender is inferior or superior.

This practice still exists in some parts of the world where women aren't allowed to dry their inner garments outside the house. Only men are allowed to wash and dry their inner garments outside their house. Now we can fight for equality once again. Why are men allowed to dry their inner garments outside whereas women are not? I mean inner garments are inner garments and all of them have to be dried outside where there is sunlight so, that all the bacteria and microorganisms can be destroyed and we get clean clothes but no, the ladies inner garments have to be dried inside because apparently you can take the women's inner garments and do black magic with it. This taboo is insane in my opinion and despite your gender, your inner garments should be dried outside to be healthy and hygienic. This kind of absurd myths should be abolished and leave society permanently. For that to happen you have to voice out.

Many women think that the prohibition from entering the temples during the time of their period is depriving them of their rights to go to places, but no that's not the case. This is what I used to think until yesterday when a wise woman enlightened me with the reason you are asked not to go into the temple while you are bleeding is that every human has an aura around them and the aura in the places where we worship are stronger than the aura within us and so basically when we walk into the temple when we are bleeding we tend to we lose our aura. We lose our strength. People prohibited us from going to the temple while we were bleeding not as a punishment but as a way to keep ourselves strong. There is no need for fighting for equality here as their motive was to only keep us safe.

In this article, I have been jumping from topics from here and there and what I'm concluding this article to is that it all comes down to one thing. How we perceive and look at things. Yesterday, my aunt took her son to a grocery shop. Where she made her son pay for the things they bought. He gave the money using his left hand instead of his right and so my aunt asked him to play with his right hand. The shopkeeper became mad really fast and began a rant about why are you discriminating on the other hand and why can't we use both hands and if you think that the other hand is useless then why have it when you can cut it off. To be honest I found this conversation extremely funny and even wanted to write a blog about "The equality for both hands". But anyway that's what I'm saying. Everything comes down to how people perceive things. That shopkeeper saw that both hands should be used equally and so she argued for equal rights for both of them.

Similarly, When people view menstruation as ugly, gross, and disgusting it is eventually seen in society as an uncomfortable topic. When people see menstruation as nothing but a part of women's lives and the gateway for life on earth it becomes a much more free topic for discussion and it makes women's life easier. It all depends on your view and how you perceive things in society.
In the olden days, people used to use a cloth to help them hold their bad blood and it was very tiring since you had to adjust it every now and then. Later on, cotton pads began to sell in the markets. These cotton pads had no chemicals in them. It had its own drawbacks such as if there was overflowing of blood then the cotton pad wouldn't be able to hold the blood and it would eventually break. The advanced version of these pads is the chemical pads that we use today. These chemicals result in uterus cancer and tumors. We still use these pads even after knowing their effects because we think we have no other efficient choice of pads. No! There is another choice for chemical-free periods. That is called herbal pads. I highly recommend any women that are reading this article to buy herbal pads from now on as they are chemical as well as cancer-free. Even if you don't like my article and you think its a bunch of crap please share it so that many women can become aware of the HERBAL PADS.

In conclusion, menstruation is a cycle. Not a curse. It's natural. Period. (It was an intended pun) So, start treating it as part of nature and stop isolating it as if it's a curse. It should be considered as a normal part of life as that is what it is and women should feel free to talk more about it openly without feeling anxious. Let's make a better world together.

A.N: It's not my usual stuff but at times you have to get yourself together and voice out some serious concerns of the society and that's what I did. I manned up and wrote about this and it's time you man up and write your views about it in the comment section as well and share it so more people become aware of herbal pads which can most probably save a lot of lives.

One sheds blood to protect the world.
The other sheds blood to generate the world.
One at borders and other at houses.
Both deserve equal respect and it's time we give it to them.

Capturing Moments, Creating Magic: My Journey as the Publicity Officer in Monash Malaysia Photography Society

Oh boy, it's been quite the journey from "Publicity Subcom" to "Publicity Head" at the Green Representative Monash Club! I've been spreading eco-love like a caffeinated squirrel on a mission. 🌱☕ But guess what? During one of our beach cleanup escapades, I managed to network with the members of the Photography Society. πŸ“Έ Those camera-wielding wizards needed a Vice Publicity Officer, and my response was faster than a cheetah chasing a perfectly lit sunset! πŸ†πŸŒ… Why, you ask? Well, I figured if I can make Mother Nature look good, why not turn my lens toward humans too? πŸ˜„πŸŒΏ So, my debut act as the Vice Publicity Officer was all about recruiting the next generation of board directors. I decided to jazz it up with a retro theme – because who can resist a good old-fashioned throwback? It was like stepping into a time machine, only with more pixels and fewer bell bottoms. πŸ•ΊπŸ’Ύ Now, I'm not just spreading the green gospel; I'm capturing it in pixel-perfec...

COVID-19 - A Way Of Nature To Reclaim It's Space

Coronavirus (COVID-19) It is quite sad that the year that we all waited for is the same year that has turned the entire world upside down and into turmoil. By now you would have already guessed what I'm running to address here. Coronavirus (COVID-19) which originated from Wuhan, China. It's a virus that is spreading quickly and many more are becoming infected and some even dying. To contract the coronavirus you first have to come in contact with it either through an infected person's respiratory secretions such as a cough or a sneeze, through physical contact with them or by physically touching a surface that the virus is on and touching somewhere like your nose or your mouth before washing your hands, once the virus can enter the body, it's work can begin. The coronavirus has RNA which is the genetic information that is needed by any virus to replicate. Once the virus comes in contact with your cells it binds to receptors on that cell and once it finds its passage...

Navigating the Leo Club as the Publicity Officer: A Tale of Passion, Purpose, and Creative Adventures

In the world of community service and philanthropy, there's a spark that ignites when you find the perfect platform to channel your enthusiasm. For me, that platform was the Leo Club, where I embarked on a remarkable journey as the newly appointed Publicity Officer. As I look back on my journey so far, it's a blend of creativity, camaraderie, and a dash of humor that has defined the first quarter of my term. Revamping the Logo: The moment I stepped into my role, I knew it was time for a fresh start. The first task on my agenda was to breathe new life into our club's logo. It was more than just an image; it was our identity. The logo revamp was like giving our club a makeover, aligning it with the theme I had envisioned. Announcing the Change: With the new logo in place, I couldn't resist making a grand announcement. Instagram, our digital canvas, was my playground. I wanted the world to know, so I crafted a post that screamed change and progress. It was a small step, bu...
