You don't have to be Anti-man to be a Pro-woman.

Yes! I'm a Feminist.

No! I don't hate men.

Shocking? Then you clearly have not understood the proper meaning of the word Feminist. I argued with a friend of mine on why I'm a feminist and here I'm typing the very reasons why our society needs feminism. Why am I a feminist? Because I believe equality. Then why don't we feminists call ourselves "Equalist" or "Egalitarian"? We use the word feminism because our main focus is on the unequal status of women. Still, think it's unfair? I think it's fair that feminism is called feminism considering that the entire history of the human race is called "mankind". If you stand for equality then you, my friend are a feminist. I'm a feminist for the following reasons:

  1. Boys are shamed for being emotionally open because that's a girl's thing.
  2. Street harassment or catcalling is not a compliment.
  3. The worst thing a girl and a guy can be called is a girl! I mean what is that all about?
  4. Women are not all naturally sweet, loving, sensual. They are just like men. They can be idiots, dumb with, pigs and deadbeats. Women are not more special or degraded than men they are the same as men and that gender equality and that is what I stand up for.

So, why do I think the world needs feminism? Because no male politician has ever been asked questions like "If you are elected who will take care of the kids" or "What designer are you wearing tonight?" or "Do you think your stunted male emotions will affect your decision making?" If equality exists then these questions shouldn't be awkward to ask male politicians when it is not considered to be awkward when they are asked to female politicians, or they shouldn't be asked to both genders in the first place. If a Muslim can't write a book about Hinduism then how are men allowed to write legislation about women?. We need feminism because it should not be "heroic" or "rare" for men to
advocate for women's rights. It should be expected and should be as common as breathing.

When someone tells me "It's not fair girls can wear pants and boys can't wear dresses" I'm usually genuinely beguiled by that I mean no one is stopping you from entering a store and getting a dress and wearing it and when someone says you can't do it just do a twirl and slay them with your fashion. It is as simple as that. The most interesting thing is this phrase is usually used by men to tell women that they can't or shouldn't wear pants but who is stopping men from wearing dresses? Is it women? No! It's men and the patriarchy.

Feminism is equality for both men and women in their ways. It's not that women should be more superior than men (which they are, I mean they bring life into this world people!) or that men should be downgraded, It's an equal opportunity and equal respect for both genders because we are humans and we deserve to be respected equally. I'm not here to say that women will become stronger by feminism. NO! women are already strong, It's all about changing the way that the world perceives strength. I mean the word equality itself includes ALL. It was meant for everyone to be treated the same!

Equality would have only been truly claimed in the world when ALL genders are raised the same. Why should we be voting on whether women get equal rights? Why are we even voting whether someone gets rights or not? When we say women should be respected it does not mean men should not be respected! Us getting rights does not mean your rights are being taken away You are not a victim and so stop making everything about you. All I want is people to go from saying "act like a lady" to saying "be polite and respectful" because not only a woman should do those things and from people saying "man up" to people saying "be strong and have courage" because not only men should do those things.

Boys should be allowed to cry, Girls should be allowed to feel strong, without feeling demeaned or discouraged by what people might say. Equal rights do not mean that we want to be treated like men! We just want to be treated equally. It's that simple. "Equal" does not mean "Identical" saying men and women are equal doesn't mean that men and women have no differences it just means that men and women have differences and they should be accepted but those difference should not translate to different levels of access to benefits and opportunities in society.

To the people who think that equality exists and I'm just fighting for a topic that is already in existence. No. You are wrong. I quote from the book Half the Sky "More girls have been killed in the last FIFTY years, precisely because they were girls than men were killed in all the battles of the 20th century. Mor girls are killed in this routine gendercide in any ONE decade than people were slaughtered in ALL the genocides of the 20th century." If that is not speaking volumes to you then I would suggest you read that again.

Let's build a world where men and women can feel weak and strong and it wouldn't be frowned upon. A world where mental health is the most important priority and its judged on the basis that you are a homo sapien and not on whether you are male or female, A better place where feelings are completely natural and we teach both boys and girls to accept and manage them in healthy ways, A place where anyone can be the stay at home parent and it's not a big deal. A place where both men and women are protectors and nurturers and both of them get equally nurtured and protected. Let girls play with cars and let boys play with dolls and let colors be for everyone and not genderized. Let our generation be the generation of well-developed humans with full potential and who can't be put into a box and told what to do. While the reason that females face inequalities should be a reason enough to support feminism. Let's not forget that men also undergo genderism and feminism is for humans as a whole and not just for women. It's for and about overcoming oppression despite whichever gender you belong to. Change is the only that is inevitable and I do hope that the prejudice over gender roles does change very soon for nothing but the betterment of humankind.

A.N: It's been quite a long time since I updated anything and I thought why not turn my setback into a comeback and here we are. At the end of the day all I'm trying to convey is that

22 + 52 = 30 + 44

Equality doesn't mean identical it means "equal to". I really think it's important for everyone to acknowledge the real concern of this issue for a better future and with that said I would like to conclude it with "A man of quality never fears equality".

Capturing Moments, Creating Magic: My Journey as the Publicity Officer in Monash Malaysia Photography Society

Oh boy, it's been quite the journey from "Publicity Subcom" to "Publicity Head" at the Green Representative Monash Club! I've been spreading eco-love like a caffeinated squirrel on a mission. 🌱☕ But guess what? During one of our beach cleanup escapades, I managed to network with the members of the Photography Society. πŸ“Έ Those camera-wielding wizards needed a Vice Publicity Officer, and my response was faster than a cheetah chasing a perfectly lit sunset! πŸ†πŸŒ… Why, you ask? Well, I figured if I can make Mother Nature look good, why not turn my lens toward humans too? πŸ˜„πŸŒΏ So, my debut act as the Vice Publicity Officer was all about recruiting the next generation of board directors. I decided to jazz it up with a retro theme – because who can resist a good old-fashioned throwback? It was like stepping into a time machine, only with more pixels and fewer bell bottoms. πŸ•ΊπŸ’Ύ Now, I'm not just spreading the green gospel; I'm capturing it in pixel-perfec...

COVID-19 - A Way Of Nature To Reclaim It's Space

Coronavirus (COVID-19) It is quite sad that the year that we all waited for is the same year that has turned the entire world upside down and into turmoil. By now you would have already guessed what I'm running to address here. Coronavirus (COVID-19) which originated from Wuhan, China. It's a virus that is spreading quickly and many more are becoming infected and some even dying. To contract the coronavirus you first have to come in contact with it either through an infected person's respiratory secretions such as a cough or a sneeze, through physical contact with them or by physically touching a surface that the virus is on and touching somewhere like your nose or your mouth before washing your hands, once the virus can enter the body, it's work can begin. The coronavirus has RNA which is the genetic information that is needed by any virus to replicate. Once the virus comes in contact with your cells it binds to receptors on that cell and once it finds its passage...

Navigating the Leo Club as the Publicity Officer: A Tale of Passion, Purpose, and Creative Adventures

In the world of community service and philanthropy, there's a spark that ignites when you find the perfect platform to channel your enthusiasm. For me, that platform was the Leo Club, where I embarked on a remarkable journey as the newly appointed Publicity Officer. As I look back on my journey so far, it's a blend of creativity, camaraderie, and a dash of humor that has defined the first quarter of my term. Revamping the Logo: The moment I stepped into my role, I knew it was time for a fresh start. The first task on my agenda was to breathe new life into our club's logo. It was more than just an image; it was our identity. The logo revamp was like giving our club a makeover, aligning it with the theme I had envisioned. Announcing the Change: With the new logo in place, I couldn't resist making a grand announcement. Instagram, our digital canvas, was my playground. I wanted the world to know, so I crafted a post that screamed change and progress. It was a small step, bu...
